Bending & Forming

Precise folded parts, exact angles and consistent bending results: Albrecht produces custom-fit formed parts for mechanical engineering, plant engineering and tank construction.

Precision-cut edge components for functional designs

Bending is one of the key fabrication processes at Albrecht. Wherever sheet metal needs to be formed into specific angles and shapes, our CNC-controlled bending technology ensures dimensional accuracy and repeatability.

Whether simple angle profiles, complex geometries or load-bearing components – we manufacture to drawings, specifications or samples.

Performance specifications, dimensions and tolerances for bending

  • CNC press braking for components up to 3,000 mm in length
  • Multiple bends with a pressing force of up to 230 t
  • Precise angle and radius production, including for tubular sections, half-shells and cones
  • Forming of individual parts and production runs
  • Preparation of welded assemblies
  • Manufacturing to drawing specifications

Material thicknesses and component sizes according to project requirements. Angular accuracy and dimensional tolerances in accordance with technical specifications.

In-house processing

In-house processing

Once the bending process is complete, all further processing takes place directly at Albrecht. This includes drilling, countersinking, thread cutting, milling, as well as weld edge finishing and surface preparation. The result is components ready for assembly without any external interfaces – efficiently and with process reliability.

From the blank to the finished assembly

From the blank to the finished assembly

Folded components often form the basis for housings, frame structures, reinforcements or container segments. At Albrecht, these are turned into complete assemblies, from blanking and folding through to machining, welding, blasting or pickling. All processes are optimally co-ordinated.

Machinery & Technology

Our CNC-controlled press brake systems ensure reproducible results and a high level of process reliability. Integration into our modern machinery enables cost-effective production processes, from raw sheet metal to components ready for assembly. The close integration with laser, plasma and oxy-fuel cutting, as well as mechanical machining and welding technology, enables end-to-end production from a single source.

Quality and Control

Precision-cut parts documented and inspected

Our forming processes are carried out in accordance with clearly defined quality standards. The focus is on dimensional accuracy, angular accuracy and component inspection, particularly in the case of load-bearing or safety-critical structures.

  • Dimensional and angular checks
  • Material certificates (e.g. 3.1 / 3.2)
  • Material traceability
  • Test reports on request

All certificates available for download

Complete production and inspection documentation can be provided for every project, such as material certificates or welding documentation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about edge bending

Which materials can be folded?

We process unalloyed and alloyed steels, stainless steel and selected special materials, depending on the material thickness and bending radius.

What thicknesses of material are available?

The achievable material thicknesses depend on the material, component geometry, bending length and required bending radius. With a pressing force of up to 230 tonnes and a maximum bend length of 3,000 mm, we process both thin sheets and thicker materials, subject to technical feasibility. We would be happy to assess your drawing on a case-by-case basis and advise you on the optimal design in terms of material, radius and tolerance.

Do you manufacture individual parts or in batches?

Both. We manufacture individual components, spare parts, small batches and project-specific production runs – cost-effectively and with consistent quality.

Can folded parts be welded directly?

Yes. We carry out weld preparation mechanically or manually and perform certified welding work in-house.

Is it possible to combine this with tank construction?

Yes, this is one of Albrecht’s particular strengths. We do not manufacture bent components in isolation; instead, they can be integrated directly into our production processes for plant and vessel construction. This means that the entire value chain – from cutting and bending through to mechanical machining, certified welding work, pressure vessel components or complete assemblies – takes place within our company.

Particularly when it comes to load-bearing structures, vessel segments, shell panels, reinforcements or connecting structures, you benefit from:

  • end-to-end project support
  • co-ordinated manufacturing processes
  • certified welding procedures (e.g. in accordance with AD 2000 / PED)
  • documented quality assurance
  • full traceability of materials
