Milling & CNC Machining

Precise milled parts, exact contours and reproducible machining results: Albrecht produces dimensionally accurate components for mechanical engineering, plant engineering and tank construction. A perfect fit. Time-saving. In compliance with all tolerances and quality specifications.

Precision machining for complex geometries

Milling is a key process in our mechanical machining operations. Wherever complex contours, flat surfaces, fits or functional surfaces are required, our CNC technology ensures the highest levels of dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

Whether it’s a single part, a large component or a production part – we manufacture precisely to drawings, specifications or samples.

Milling as a process at Albrecht

In-house processing

In-house processing

Following milling, all further processing takes place directly at Albrecht. This includes turning, drilling, countersinking, tapping and weld preparation – whether carried out mechanically or manually. Surface treatments such as grinding, blasting, painting or pickling are also carried out in-house. This results in components ready for assembly without the need for external processes.

From milled component to finished assembly

From milled component to finished assembly

Milled components often form the basis for machine frames, flanged joints, support structures or pressure-bearing components in plant and vessel construction.

On request, these components can be integrated directly into our manufacturing process for plant and vessel construction, including certified welding work and documented quality control.

From raw material to the tested assembly, we offer end-to-end manufacturing from a single source.

Machinery & Technology

Our CNC machining centres enable the precise machining of large components up to 5,500 mm in length (horizontally).

Their integration into our modern machine park ensures efficient manufacturing processes – from cutting, milling and drilling right through to welding and surface finishing.

End-to-end manufacturing means: fewer interfaces, greater process reliability and consistent quality.

Quality and Control

Precision-machined parts: documented and inspected

All machining processes are carried out in accordance with defined quality standards. Particularly for safety-critical applications, we ensure documented inspection procedures and full traceability.

  • Dimensional and visual inspections
  • Material certificates (e.g. 3.1 / 3.2)
  • Traceability of materials
  • Test reports available on request

All certificates available for download

Complete production and testing documentation can be provided for each project, such as material certificates or welding documentation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about milling

What sizes of components can be milled?

We machine components up to 5,500 mm in length horizontally, as well as up to 1,400 mm vertically and 1,000 mm across.

Actual machinability depends on the material, weight, geometry and clamping options. We would be happy to assess your drawing on a case-by-case basis to determine its technical feasibility and advise you on a design suitable for production.

Which materials can be milled?

We mill unalloyed and alloyed steels, stainless steel (e.g. 1.4301, 1.4404, 1.4571), duplex steel and selected special materials.

We can also machine materials for applications in plant engineering, the energy sector or pressure vessel construction. The machining strategy is adapted to suit the specific material in order to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

Is it possible to achieve tight tolerances and fits?

Yes. Machining is carried out using CNC technology in accordance with the drawing specifications.

Depending on requirements, we produce functional surfaces, fits or defined flatness tolerances with a high degree of repeatability. Dimensional and visual inspections, as well as documented testing processes, ensure that the required specifications are met.

Can milled components be processed further straight away?

Yes. A key advantage of our manufacturing process is that further processing takes place directly in-house.

Milled components can be combined straight away with:

  • turning
  • Drilling, countersinking and thread cutting
  • Welding (including certified welding)
  • Weld preparation
  • Surface treatment such as blasting or pickling

This results in ready-to-assemble sub-assemblies without external interfaces.

Is it possible to combine this with container construction?

Yes. Milled components can be integrated directly into our production process for plant and vessel construction.

Particularly when it comes to pressure-bearing components, flange connections or load-bearing structures, you benefit from end-to-end manufacturing, including certified welding work and documented quality assurance.

The combination of machining and vessel construction enhances process reliability and reduces the need for coordination.

Are material certificates and test reports supplied with the goods?

On request, we can supply 3.1 or 3.2 material certificates, as well as project-specific test and documentation records.

For safety-critical applications, we guarantee full traceability of the materials used
