Pipework

Definition

Pipework connects plant components for the conveyance of liquids, gases or vapours – under various pressure and temperature conditions. During design and manufacture, many parameters must be taken into account, such as corrosion, abrasion, elongation, and thermal and mechanical loads, which can occur in a highly dynamic manner. The connections – such as flanged joints – also require careful attention. Here, the selection of gaskets and bolts is crucial for long-term durability and leak-tightness.
