Reaction column
Definition
A reaction column is a vertical vessel in which chemical and thermal reactions and mass separation processes (e.g. distillation, absorption) take place simultaneously. In these processes, the residence time within the column is important and is largely determined by the height and cross-sectional area of the column, as well as the flow velocity.
