Discharge pipes
The way is now clear at the pumping station.
Albrecht Edelstahl was awarded a special contract to manufacture two discharge pipes for the pumping station of a natural gas pipeline. The complete design, testing and logistics – all from a single source.
Production and testing
Albrecht Edelstahl was awarded a special contract to manufacture two discharge pipes for the pumping station of a natural gas pipeline. Albrecht Edelstahl was responsible for the complete manufacture of the pipes, each 35 metres long, with diameters of 500 and 700 mm respectively, and wall thicknesses of 6 and 8 mm respectively. Albrecht Edelstahl was also responsible for the non-destructive material testing (including X-ray and pressure testing).
Finally, transporting the two pipes, with a combined weight of 8 tonnes, to their destination proved to be a logistical challenge: loading alone took 1.5 hours. Declared as an oversized special consignment, the journey from Lindlar to the customer’s premises was then undertaken under a police escort and with an accompanying vehicle, travelling overnight from 10 pm.
Over 10 tonnes of stainless steel in one piece
Completion of a blow-off pipe measuring a total of 35 metres in length and weighing 10 tonnes.
January 2020: The lorry drives out of our workshop and seems to go on forever. On board is a 35-metre-long vent pipe for natural gas. After four months of construction, carried out entirely in-house, the 10-tonne vent pipe leaves the apparatus and vessel construction department of W. Albrecht GmbH & Co. KG. It is transported to its destination by special night-time transport, with the extra-long load and an escort vehicle.
